EMJ.LIFE Adopts LEI for Enterprise KYB
Policy effective 15 October 2026, with controlled enterprise invitations from 24 October 2026
Policy announcement
EMJ.LIFE is adopting the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) as the primary external reference for enterprise Know Your Business (KYB) checks in EMJ.NEXUS. The policy takes effect on 15 October 2026 and applies to controlled enterprise invitation onboarding from 24 October 2026. D-U-N-S becomes optional supplementary information in the second stage of onboarding.
Why the change matters
The change supports consistent identification of the legal entity responsible for enterprise activities, records and evidence. Brands, group names and email domains alone cannot reliably distinguish subsidiaries or entities registered in different jurisdictions. LEI reference data provides a publicly checkable basis for identity matching, with the source, retrieval time and relevant statuses retained for later review.
First stage identity checks and subscription
Invited enterprises provide their legal name, LEI and invited email address for first-stage verification. After passing KYB, subscribers read and accept the Enterprise Order Form before selecting a subscription plan and confirming the transaction. An effective agreement and confirmed subscription payment are required for formal EGC ID issuance or association. The LEI identifies the legal entity externally; the EGC ID serves as its internal EMJ.NEXUS identifier.
Second stage information and document acceptance
In the second stage, subscribers complete a profile of 14 required fields and separately read and accept the remaining seven commercial documents: MCT, DPA, SEC, SLA, DRE, EIPP and CPS. Information already obtained from GLEIF is carried forward rather than requested again. D-U-N-S is optional and does not prevent subscription, EGC ID issuance, profile completion or the initial points allocation.
Initial allocation of 200 E-IPP Points
The first 200 E-IPP Points are allocated once, after subscription payment is confirmed, the correct EGC ID is issued or associated, all 14 required fields are complete, and all seven second-stage acknowledgements are recorded. Accepting CPS acknowledges conditional terms for a separately requested optional service; it does not place an order or authorise a charge.
LEI status handling
The full policy notice explains how LEI registration and entity statuses are handled. A LAPSED registration indicates overdue renewal and does not itself establish that the enterprise has ceased operating. New tasks and evidence are restricted pending renewal and review, while historical identity and evidence records remain traceable under the applicable retention rules.
Institutional scope
EMJ.LIFE is an Institutional Evidence Systems Integrator focused on Pre-Disclosure Evidence Infrastructure. The policy concerns legal entity identification and platform admission. It does not establish completion of every legally required due diligence check or imply endorsement by GLEIF or other institutions. Policy publication, contract effectiveness and actual feature activation remain separate.
